WELCOME TO THE PAGE DEDICATED TO THE HISTORY OF OUR CATTERY!

We would like to give you a little idea of how we got started and what we are about.

Our love for Abyssinians started about two years before the first representative of this breed crossed our threshold. It was in 2000, when we visited one of the big cat shows in Moscow and saw a real Abyssinian cat for the first time.

At that time, we weren't thinking about getting a cat for breeding or shows; we simply wanted a great cat to be part of our small family. But we were dazzled by the large variety of the breeds shown: perky American Curls and Turkish Angoras, elegant Cornish Rexes and Orientals, funny Maine Coons and Bobtails, mesmerizing Burmeses and Singapuras.

And then we saw him - an incredibly bright ruddy Abyssinian male. He was playing with his owner in spite of the stress that is usual in large cat shows. We were amazed that such a wild-looking animal could be so tender, playful and friendly to strangers. After that show, we had no doubt that Abyssinian, the most captivating and enchanting of all cats, was the breed for our family.

It was not easy to find an Abyssinian kitten, since in those days the breed wasn’t as popular as, for instance, British Shorthairs or Persians. It took us almost a year and a half to get one.

In September, 2002 our first sorrel (red) Abyssinian female named Airise Sophie Amadei fon Rauph came to live with us. Shortly afterwards, we purchased our first blue Aby, Beatrise Shell, from the small cattery Shell.

Right after that we decided to register our cattery and got licences from three international organizations - WCF (World Cat Federation), CFA (Cat Fanciers' Association) and CFF (Cat Fanciers' Federation).

From then on we were hooked. We started showing cats and planning our first litters. We've raised sweet and slightly naughty kittens in our home with much love and attention. For a long time, we didn’t have our own stud. Luckily, we recently imported a gorgeous fawn boy - GC Purssynian Sweet the Sting - from the well-known American cattery Purssynian (breeders Beth and Darrell Newkirk). We hope to be able to import other cats from overseas in the nearest future. This is our way of trying to make a contribution to the small Abyssinian gene pool here in Russia.

Our goal is to breed beautiful and elegant, but most importantly, healthy Abyssinians. To reach this goal we plan to import new healthy bloodlines into Russia and to have all our cats tested for every possible disease before breeding them. When selecting suitable studs for breeding our cats, we only look for healthy, tested cats and try to outcross as much as possible.
